Follow your instincts...plenty... by Michael_D
Follow your instincts...plenty of VT posters will serve up the 'usual suspects' and give you rave reviews about how cheap the Staten Island Ferry is...how stately the Statue of Liberty is and how urban-warrior chic Greenwich Village is...Im just going to try to give you a different perspective. The Chrysler Building is just a building to some...but in the right perspective is a massive piece of art. Grande Central Sation HAS been rennovated...if you are serious about drinking the restoration in..plan to spend 2 to 3 hours and plan to look up much of the time. It has the Sistene Chapel of transportation for a cieling. New York is in actually a mobile art form...if you keep you eyes open on any given day you may see anything from someone famous to a world reknown cataclismic event like the World Trade Center billowing smoke in the distance...I once bumped into Mikail Barishnikov and witnessed a full scale robbery attempt foiled ala NYPD BLUE in one day..and that was BEFORE lunch!
That night we wandered around untill 2am and they were filming a Bruce Willis movie..flames blazing out of 20 windows , firetrucks lights flashing and about 10 extras sipping on cold sodas nanchalently as people flung themselves out of windows into airbags below...APPLAUSE/APPLAUSE...Thats a wrap!Pretty full day Id say...from any perspective.
