Storyin New York City

big window :)

the pillow case has a smell of other people's head , and some part of it has a smell of soap , so I guess they do not wash those sheet and pillow case by washing machine , maybe by hand , so not clean , and I did not use it , I put my pillow under the sheet .

There are 6 bed in the my room , and only 2 bed has pillow .

And we can not lock the door when we use toilet .

I stay 10 days here . 18 usd each day . pay in advance .
there is no rule here . you can bargen with the owner . she is a little tricky . but you have to know : if you have to pay 20 usd . you can find better hostel .

located in Harlem but the street is not very dark and empty when I come back about 11 pm .

View from Uptown Hostel over Lenox Avenue/123rd Street.

Me again, 5 o'clock in the morning, shortly after we got back from a nightclub. So you know, why i look so tired :). The same day I refused to take any sleep at all. After that we went to an 8 o'clock service in the Abessynian Baptist Church.

Sports Trip - End of August/Early September

by westside8

I'm looking to travel down to New York City in the end of August (from Toronto) to take in a New York Yankees game, a New York Mets game, as well as a couple of days of the US Open. I'm wondering if anyone is aware of any hostels/time sharing places where I can check out that is located in a central location to the venues I'm visiting, as well as reasonable price.

Thanks!

I would recommend very nice uptown hostel "jazz on the park" (http://www.jazzonthepark.com/) (just half block from Central Park) I used to live in the building across the street. There was always a lot of young people from that hostel around neighborhood. On 103th street you can board B train that will take you to right to the Yankee stadium. For Mets games and US Open Take B train on1 03rd street and transfer on 7 train on 42 St-Bryant Park /6 Avenue.
