Excellent Value and service
We recently stayed at the Hampton Inn, Niagara Falls, New York (Nov. 5 - 8th) and just wanted to say : excellent accomadations and very kind and pleasant staff.
From the moment we checked in we were treated kindly by all staff, front desk, housekeeping, breakfast server and maintenance. Everyone wished us a nice day, had a pleasant hello for us and just generally made us feel special.
The accomadation was fine and we spent three comfortable nights there. The breakfast was a nice surprise, both with the variety and the service. it was a great start to the day.
- - Just one wee suggestion. The curtains above the breakfast table definatley need to be cleaned. The dust on them was pretty thick.
Other than that we just had a wonderful time and I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all the staff. Service was excellent and we will not hesitate to stay there again when in the area. It is such a pleasure to be treated so nicel
Great for families.
We enjoyed our stay at the Hampton Inn. It is not as close to the falls as we expected, but we were able to manage the 15 minute walk. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The free breakfast buffet is a bonus, but was usually crowded. The hotel has free coffee available 24 hours daily. The hotel staff were always pleasant and polite. We would recommend this hotel!
Hampton Inn, if you don't like it, you don't pay.
We walked into this Hampton Inn off the street after realizing that we could not stay at the Ramada across the street. The staff was very polite and advised us that we could have a room with AAA rate even though we didn't have a reservation. The room we got had a jaquzzi in it and was very spacious. The bed was very comfortable and the TV was pretty good. The pool is clean and the spa was very nice. The maintenance person cleans the pool and the spa daily. The spa had just been emptied and cleaned and refilled the day we used it.
This hotel has a very good breakfast. Not your average coffee and danish continental breakfast, but a full fledged eggs and sausage, cereal, bagels, fruit and more breakfast.
There are in-room safes for storing valuables and free high-speed internet that actually works. The parking lot is not very big and the overall neighborhood is a bit run down so don't leave any valuables in your car. Otherwise, if you are going to stay on the U.S. side of the falls, this hotel is one of the better ones in my opinion.
Oh and they have a sign at the front desk that if you are unhappy for any reason, you will not be charged.
Well Worth your Money
Me and My husband stayed at the Hampton Inn on sept 2nd till sept 3rd for our 2nd Anniversery. It was a very enjoyable stay.When we walked in the staff was very polite and helpful. I had lots of questions about the attractions in the area and they were anwered! When we got to our room we were amazed at how clean and spacious it was. We had a jacuzzi in the room that was not all that big, but it fitted 2 people in there and the room was facing toward the back of the building which was not a good view( it was a alley view). Other than that, every thing was lovely. the bed was big, the room was clean, the bathroom was spottless and there was no foul oders.
The 24 hour tea and cofee bar was very nice and clean. They had all flavors of tea and cofee creamers. When we woke up we went to the complimentary breakfast and it was not your average danish and tea type of breakfast. They had sausage and french toast, all kinds of fruits, yogurt, muffins, juices, and cereals. This breakfast was very good and it's all you can eat. The dinig area was clean. This breakfast wasn't what I expected(I expected less) This was wonderful!
The attractions was in walking distance. The most walking we did was to the falls and that was about 15 minutes. The Hardrock cafe is an overpriced applebees, so be aware that there are othe resturants around and it's really not worth going to unless you know the menu and have a favorite dish on thier menu. And they didn't have a wide variety of food(not like you would expect). The maid of mist is a must! We enjoyed that ride and recommends that anyone who goes up to the falls ride it! The casino was great even though we didn't win but atlease we had free drinks all night.
The whole experience was nice and over all we loved the hotel, the attractions, and the getaway!!!!
Not the best place..
We chose this hotel seeing the good rating on tripadvisor. But our
experience was quite to the contrary. The staff were very curt during
checkin and other times when we approached them with some
questions. The parking is so limited that we had to park in the auxilliary
parking almost a block away. The room door always need a kick to
open. The internet connection (there is only one connected computer
in the lobby and no wifi in room) felt slower than 28kbps. This computer
crawled with thousands of adware/spyware. As some one else pointed out,
this place needs an overhaul and some staff training.
If you don't have any other constraints always
stay on the Canada side. It is shorter walk to the falls and you get a face
to face view of the falls (more so at night with lighting and especially
if there is fireworks). We really can't see how this hotel gets the highest
rating in Niagara area.
Bad Service, they can't handle problems
We went on a trip to USA where we first started out in New York. went by buss to Washington DC, buss to Niagara falls and then train back to New York. The busstrip to niagara falls was over night and was 13 hours long. We arrived in Niagara at about 7 am and after a night on a cold buss (they couldn't turn of the AC) we stumbled to our hotel only to find that they had lost our reservation. "No problem we thought. It happens all the time". They said that they were going to get us another room, but the problem was that we were not allowed in to the room until 4pm. "oh well" we thought "We still got a room". We had only one day in Niagara falls so we thought that we would just put our bags in a storage room and hed to the waterfall until we could get our room, but they said they had a policy against people storing their luggage in the hotel and said that we had to wait until the room was ready to store our luggage! I mean come on! that's just bad service. It clearly shows that they have no ability to handle customers. So angrily we whent over to the next hotel and get a room whithout any problem. But still the Hampton inn charged us for the fee that would gurantee us the room we never got. DON'T STAY AT THIS HOTEL!
A solid choice
Can't understand the recent negative reviews, but we chose this hotel b/c of the consistantly good ones, and were not disappointed. Just returned from a three night stay. We would have preferred the Canadian side, but had a flight on Sunday from Buffalo at 8:30 and could not risk a delay at the border. Our king room was clean and comfortable with a full size fridge and freezer and a microwave. Breakfast was plentiful, and an unexpected plus, as others have noted. We thought the staff were all excellent, and delivered promptly, from extra pillows to getting the TV to work one night after 11 pm. A five minute trip into the Business Center printed our boarding passes for the next day with no hassles. We had other business in Canada, and spent a great day at the Falls - we have no interest in casinos. While the American side generally is a little seedy, we had a great dinner in Little Italy at Como's - another Hampton staff recommendation. Not the lap of luxury, but it suited us perfectly.
Don't want to spend $200.00 a night?
For staters the hotel is easy to find. Front door parking is somewhat limited however there is plenty of free overflow parking. We checked in early @ 1:00 and our room was ready. Hotel staff was fine and room was clean. This talk of "needs updated"? The place looked fine to me. Breakfast bar was OK, you can save yourself a few bucks here. Falls are within walking distance, but it is a good hike. Casino is right there. If your looking to spend your money on something other than lodging the Hampton is as good as any minus the falls view.
Liked the Hampton Inn
This is our second stay at the hampton Inn in Niagara Falls and we were very satified. We got a special interent rate and since that included breakfast it was a very good deal. It is much more inexpensive to stay on the American side and just cross over to see whatever you want to see on the Canadian side. We have been to Niagara Falls many times and are tired of all the glitz on the canadian side. The hotel was clean, the bathroom had more than adequate towels and toiletries and the staff was very helpful with directions. We did not use the pool so I cannot address that, however we looked in and it looked clean and very usable. We would definetly stay there again
New Years Getaway
We had a great stay at this hotel right before New Years Eve. The price was very reasonable and also included the free breakfast. The staff was friendly and quite helpful, the rooms were immaculate and the beds were noticably more comfortable then most other hotels we've stayed at. We would definatly stay here again.
