Alumnae House Vassar --The Inn at Vassar College: Poughkeepsie deal at the Vassar Alumnae House in

OK you are a budget traveler but want someplace nice to stay and visit the Hudson valley. Well a good place for you could be the Vassar Alumnae House in beautiful Vassar College Poughkeepsie. This is a small hotel run by the college and is open to anyone. You can stay for as little as about $40 if you don’t mind having a shared bath the upper end is about $90. This is a great place to stay when you come to eat at the culinary Instaturte of America or visit the 10 or 12 Gilded age Mansions like the Vanderbilt Mansion at Hyde Park or the Roosevelt Library.

Unique Quality: It is really a very charming place too as it is A Tudor-style mansion built in 1920es and will take you back to an age when Vassar was the place for girls with "families of means" -- it oozes with the feel of pre-depression old money. So, with all the old $ and rare gifts the Inn at Vassar College is know as the "House of a Thousand Treasures".
