very upscale

This is one of Rochester's more elegant hotels, right in the middle of the East Avenue cultural district. The prices start in the $160 range for a simple room and range up to $250 for a suite with kitchenette and balcony.

When our daughter got married, we had the $175 two-bed, non-smoking room which was nicely equiped with view of the local area. Everything in the room was neat and clean, even up to my picky wife's standards. The room had internet hookup, microwave for heating up small snacks, mini-refrigerator for keeping beverages cool, iron and board, hair dryer and 4 cup coffee maker. The bathroom looked like it had been recently detailed and the tub/shower was spacious enough for two.

Our package included a breakfast at the restaurant within the hotel and it was a full breakfast, not one of those dainty continental layouts.

The hotel has a spa and beauty shop, a fitness center, a business service center and a full bar. There are services such as valet parking (although that is hardly necessary because the parking spaces are right next to the hotel), reception desk and bell-person, free shuttle bus to the train station, the bus station and the airport.

Our stay at the hotel was very pleasant and the quality of the staff there added to the happiness of our daughters marriage reception.
