More about Saranac Club and Inn

...they spoiled us so much we're definitely going back...

by A TripAdvisor Member

we had a wonderful stay at the inn...even if only for 3 days...tim and mike spoiled us to no end! my boyfriend and i were thinking about asking tim if we could move in permanently! (haha) from providing a yummy picnic lunch, guide book and map for our hike, to an absolutely divine dinner in the inn's dining room, to making reservations for us at the wawbeek restaurant (we had a great table on the 2nd floor porch overlooking the lake), to even arranging a canoe for us at ampersand bay (where we had a discount as guests of the inn)....every step of the way we felt spoiled and every request we made was handled warmly and efficiently. every night, we'd come home to a table full of assorted teas, coffee, fresh-baked cookies and brownies. it was like coming home. our room was wonderful and the tempurpedic mattress and 500-count sheets were like heaven...we never wanted to get out of bed in the morning! to sum it all up, i highly, highly recommend the inn. we've already decided to come back next year for an even longer stay. thank you tim, mike, and pharfel (their adorable little boston terrier) for such a great weekend!

Excellent B&B

by A TripAdvisor Member

To join the fantastic reviews of this B&B, my wife and I can only give our highest ratings and recommendations for this beautiful gem in the Adirondacks. We stayed for four nights and had a great time. Mike and Tim created a very relaxed atmosphere and were extremely helpful.

We will come back!

Chocolate Chip Cookies and Tempurpedic Beds

by TripAdvisor Member Devo18

Homemade chocolate chip cookies and tea await you as a midnight snack before you dive into your Tempurpedic bed at the fabulous Saranac Club. Hosts Tim and Mike are warm and gracious as are the house staff who they have hired from Moldava as summer interns. Afternoon cocktails and hors d'oeuvres are a way for the guests in the four rooms of this lovely inn to get together and share stories of their Adirondack hikes, golfing experiences, and dining tips. This B&B is a jewel!

The Perfect B&B!

by TripAdvisor Member DogtownNYC

We had the perfect vacation at the Saranac Club and Inn! We really needed to get away from the hustle of the city and couldn't have asked for a more relaxing place. The innkeepers, Tim and Mike, were so friendly, more than generous with food and drink, and truly went out of their way to make sure each guest felt comfortable. Among the amazing breakfasts: delicious frittatas, spectacular blueberry pancakes, and crème brulee French Toast that was to die for. Also, the other two staff members, Doina and Rodica, were so sweet and attentive. We left feeling we had met some wonderful new friends.

Exceeded expectations

by TripAdvisor Member atallah

We spent four nights at Saranac Club and Inn in Saranac Lake. It was marvelous! Tim and Mike, the owner-managers, are always on-site and their goal is clearly to give their guests the best of everything. They have decorated this small hotel with beautiful period pieces and the guest rooms have the luxuries one expects in a "small elegant hotel": very fine linens, beds with the most comfortable mattresses and pillows we've ever enjoyed in a hotel, and many amenities. The best part for us was the evening cocktail hour. This is no help-yourself-to-a-glass-of-wine affair: Mike is behind the bar to fix your favorite cocktail or his latest experiment and the hors-d'oeuvres go far beyond crackers and cheese. What really makes this a special treat is the ambience the hosts create for good conversation among the guests. It was like going to a cocktail party at a friend's house each night. Breakfasts are plentiful and delicious--following a buffet of fresh fruits, juices, yogurts, and cereals, Tim offers a cooked entree such as blueberry pancakes or a breakfast omelette.

We highly recommend Saranac Club and Inn to anyone who wants to be pampered and treated as a special guest all day, every day. This hotel and its level of service are comparable to some of the five-star hotels we've stayed at in London, Auckland, and Japan.

Our second great visit to the Saranac Club

by A TripAdvisor Member

This was our second stay at the Saranac Club; once again it was thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing. It's a B&B run like a small, elegant hotel. I've stayed in more expensive places and received nowhere near the service that is standard here. We stayed in the "Bird's Nest" this year, the room on the top floor. It's a great room, spacious, very comfortable, and private. Breakfast, tea, and cocktail hour (all included) can't be matched by any other place I've stayed. Tim and Mike are both warm, friendly guys who are perfect hosts. The Saranac Club delivers on what other B&Bs only promise.

Peace and Quit at Saranac

Our recent stay at Saranac Club and and Inn was a return to a sane world. Its quit surroundings and wonderful hospitality were a return to days of old when travel was relaxing and congenial.

A true gem!

by TripAdvisor Member RiseM

We just spent three delightful days at the Saranc Club & Inn. It's a beautifully decorated country inn and the owners have thought of every detail to ensure their guests' enjoyment. Our suite was spacious, very comfortable and had high quality linens and bath products for our use.

But what really sets the inn apart from others where we've stayed is the warmth and hospitality of the two owners, Mike and Tim. Each day, they served us a delicious homemade breakfast. Tea, coffee and soft drinks were available all day and in the evening, they had a cocktail hour with quality wine and spirits. Morning coffee and tea and an evening turn-down snack were stationed right outside the guest rooms for our convenience. One evening we ate a delicious gourmet dinner at the inn. While they don't promote this on their website, it was a wonderful meal and very good value. After a full day of activities, it was nice to spend a quiet evening at the inn.

Mike and Tim were also terrific about advising us where to go hiking, canoeing or have a memorable lunch or dinner. They truly made us feel like guests in a fine country home...we didn't want to leave!

Sumptious!!!

by TripAdvisor Member sophiedog

This is a top-notch inn, from start to finish. Tim and Mike go the extra mile to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The rooms are decorated high-end and beautifully-- we loved the tempurpedic mattresses and are considering purchasing one ourselves.Linens/towels/robes/toiletries are all top of the line. The common areas are generously supplied with good books, magazines, music, food - attention to detail is the standard. The staff really WANT to make your stay the best, and go the extra mile for you. Round the clock beverages, bedtime snacks, afternoon tea - you are so well taken care of. The breakfasts are bountious, and I just can't say enough nice things about this place. Go there, you not only won't regret it, but you may never want to leave........

A Home Away From Home

by TripAdvisor Member gate1973

My wife and I returned to the Inn for our second visit of the summer. Mike and Tim and the rest of the staff including, Farfel, a Boston Terrier, make you feel totally at home. Mike and Tim make a real effort to find out your interests, mine, hiking and kayaking, and provide execllent recommendations about trips in the area. The rooms are very tastefully decorated in the adirondack style. Public areas downstairs have comfy sofas and chairs, a library with a wonderful selection of the latest novels, classics and books of local interest. The music selection was also selected with an ear toward making the guest totally relaxed. Breakfasts were always a real treat. Mike and Tim have been working on improving the outside grounds, new decks, a gezebo, and better parking. Saranac Lake is a wonderful Adirondack town that is authentic and provides a real contrast to the tourist overrun Lake Placid 10 miles away. I would strongly recommend the inn for a realxing mountain vacation and as a base to sightsee the still magnificent Adirondack wilderness.
