take one of the architectural walking tours. There are self-guided brochures/maps available at the Visitor Center (unfortunately I don't think it's open from Dec-Mar) which is located downtown across Broadway from Congress Park. feeding the ducks at the ponds in Congress Park. There's quite a flock of them there -- and they'll follow you around forever -- quacking quite nicely amongst themselves -- if you continue to feed them. Surprisingly, they like lots of different kinds of food -- including fruits and cooked vegetables. (I know, I know -- but I wanted to feed them, not kill them.)
Saratoga Springs

"Saratoga Springs: Not Just for Horses Anymore!"
Saratoga Springs in upstate NY has been known for it's history (Battle of Saratoga, natch!), its renowned mineral waters that have a reputation for healthful and healing benefits, and HORSES, of course! Saratoga Springs is a lovely small city, offering arts and entertainment, culture and sports just outside the Adirondacks. Summer is a magical time, with a huge number of restaurants, lovely bed and breakfast inns, and all kinds of shopping from upscale trendy clothing stores to one-of-a kind boutiques and galleries. If you're anywhere near here, it';s definitely worth the detour!

There are a ton of things to do in and around Saratoga, such as the famous Saratoga horse track, the natural mineral springs that give the town its name, Saratoga Performing Arts Center (where you can see everything from the New York City Ballet to rock concerts), great shopping, etc.
I'll be adding individual tips shortly!
