Saratoga Arms: A Great Place to Stay!

by TripAdvisor Member KvilleHappyTraveler

If you are lucky enough to get a room at the Saratoga Arms, you are sure to enjoy your visit. This B & B is owned --AND RUN--by a family whose mission is to help you enjoy yourself. Rooms are spacious, baths are modern and breakfast is Outstanding. The owners inquire about your plans, offer suggestions, offer to get you dinner reservations or spa appointments----whatever would enhance your stay.
I'm anxious to return.

Lovely, well located hotel

The Saratoga Arms is a beautiful hotel, run by a family and staff dedicated to fine service and the comfort of their guests. I have only visited "off season," but have enjoyed each stay immensely.

Great Fall Weekend

by TripAdvisor Member IrishDad2Kids

Stayed at the Saratoga Arms for an anniversary weekend. Exceptional service right from the time I called to make a reservation. The rooms were incredible and the staff make you feel right at home. The hotel is right in the center of downtown and an easy walk to local shopping and dining. Look forward to returning soon.

Impeccable service, courtesy

We first stayed at the Saratoga Arms five years ago when we were first looking at colleges - and just completed our tenth (?) visit. It's a wonderful inn - by far the best in Saratoga Springs - and one of the best that we've ever stayed at. The owner and staff are extremely polite and bend over backwards to accomodate a guest's every whim - whether suggesting good restaurants, reviewing the best places to visit, or just general history of Saratoga Springs. The rooms are delightful - attractive and very comfortable - and the hotel even provides free Saraoga water and a full size bar of soap in the bathroom, just a small indication of their dedication to pleasing the customer. Even though our daughter has now graduated, we'll be back just to visit this wonderful city - and stay at the Saratoga Arms.

Wouldn't Stay Any Place Else in Saratoga

by TripAdvisor Member Cyndilouwho72

In the course of our son's four years at Skidmore College, we have chosen to stay at the Saratoga Arms for our Freshmen Orientation visit, Parent's Weekends, occasional visits and Graduation. It has always provided everything we could want in a home away from home: a comfortable, clean, beautifully appointed room; safety and security; friendly, cheerful service; wonderful Irish breakfasts; helpful concierge service; special and thoughtful extras like coffee and tea available in the morning, an apple basket at the desk, or an umbrella at the door for a rainy day. The service is so friendly and personal that you can't help but feel at home during your entire stay. And, it's location could not be more perfect. We have developed such a fine repoire with the owners and operators that we will surely miss our stays with them now that our son has graduated - they have certainly added to the pleasure of our visits to Saratoga Springs. You can't possible go wrong with a choice to stay here - you'll find it to be a first class accomodation.

With gratitude for our many wonderful stays,
Mr. and Mrs. T. Fournie - St. Louis, MO

What a terrific spot!

by TripAdvisor Member twestover

We came to Saratoga Springs without a reservation. At low season, we thought we could find something without much difficulty. We first checked The Saratoga, attached to the convention center. It was big and cold and very modern and we hated it. Good value for the money, but just ice cold in feel. Then we drove all around and saw the Saratoga Arms. We dropped in and were welcomed by the owner with such graciousness and warmth, we knew this was the place we were going to stay. She showed us several different rooms, which we love to do, and we settled on a lovely suite that even had a TV in the bathroom mirror - I know, hard to imagine. The whole experience was positive, friendly, great food, great location and fine hosts. The exercise room is even great. And it is right across the street from Chez Sophie, a very delicious restaurant inside the ice cold Saratoga hotel. We highly recommend this very lovely, elegant but friendly small hotel. You'll love it

Great Weekend

by TripAdvisor Member PatsFanAlex

The Saratoga Arms was a refreshingly exquisite experience - outstanding service, beautiful rooms, and lovely breakfast. The rooms represent the biggest benefit of this inn - despite being a younger couple with little sense of decor we really enjoyed the subtle elegance of the ambience, with ornate decorations on the interior and the porch that just oozed hospitality. The staff displayed uncommon friendliness, particularly the proprietor who corrected a mistake that I had made (I thought that I had booked a whirlpool suite when I had not, and she gave me a free upgrade for one night!!). The staff in general was very accomodating and knowledgeable although some of the newer employees were clearly in need of more training about local recommendations. Also, be advised that if you are a finicky eater than the breakfast really offers one choice - though I am sure they would make some sort of accomodation for you.
One word of caution - I had been to Saratoga for the races previously, but never in the off or non-racing season (this was memorial day weekend so it's hard to classify it as "off season"). In general, the town seemed to be infested by aggressive types both in the streets and amongst the town's service staff. We had a very bad experience at one restaurant and I could not help but think that I was in the midst of Queens (sorry, as a Bostonian I had to take a subtle shot) . . . I highly recommend the battlefield and racing museum.

An Underated Surprise!

by TripAdvisor Member donnabur

We were very late booking a weekend get away during the very busy season, so we had to take what was available, boy were we surprised!!! We are seasoned travelers, used to 4 and 5 star, name brand hotels. Well, this one is now on our list of favorites! The place is so charming and the staff is incredibly attentive and helpful. After attending a party that put us in Saratoga late in the evening, making our check in very late We were warmly welcomed , shown to our room, offered information about the area, and invited to breakfast in the morning. We felt instantly at home. Our room was cozy, beautifully furnished and had recently been renovated (as had the entire place as explained by the wonderful hostess who sat us the next morning for our complimentary breakfast). When we inquired about a driving range and batting cages she instantly went on the internet to find us a place to go. We recommend this hotel to any couple looking for a romantic get away in the beautiful Adirondacks. We are looking forward to going back ourselves and we only live an hour away!

perfect night's stay

by TripAdvisor Member blueridge_sea

We stayed at this concierge hotel for only one night while visiting Skidmore College, but wished we could have stayed longer. The hotel has been impeccably restored by the owners & is very elegant, yet warm & inviting. Our room was immaculate, spacious, & beautifully appointed, with luxurious bedding, & our made-to-order omelets the next morning were delicious. Kathleen, the owner, was welcoming & engaging & provided a very personal touch- including perfect directions to Middlebury! A truly delightful experience.

Wonderful historic inn

by TripAdvisor Member familler

My wife and I stayed at this historic inn by chance. We had a wonderful stay. Polite and helpful staff, excellent service and good breakfast. The rooms were very nice with fireplace, king size bed, high ceilings and lots of light. The inn is on the main street (Broadway) and within easy walking to the many shops and restaurants. We plan to return to the inn on our next visit to the Saratoga area.
