Saratoga Springs is nice and the little most get away place to go. The vegetation that surrounds Saratoga Springs gives a clean air atmosphere. For a small town, there are plenty of places to lodge before the summer months. During the summer months, Saratoga Springs sits on top of a number of feature events. The Performing Arts Center which holds concerts on the cool evening lawn of the State Park. Skidmore College which has a number of summer programs. Enjoy horse racing; Trotters and Therobreds (July/August).

Horse Race

Horse Racing is what Saratoga is all about! Everywhere you go there is either a real horse, a statue of a horse, Horse carousel; horses are everywhere.

People line up before the gates open with coolers, chairs, food, and betting money. You can either pay $2 to get in and sit anywhere you want with TV’s all over the place watching the race –the atmosphere is unbelievable! You can also go in the main stand and watch it from there or book a table (not sure what the price was for that). Lastly, you can do what we did, book a VIP cabin with a tent over it and watch it from there. You can go on top of the cabin and watch it outside, or stay inside the cabin with air-conditioning.

Each bet is a minimum of $2. –Better luck next time for myself –I didn’t win one race (probably because the alcohol was betting instead of me!) My favorite horse was called “The Big Stick” –yep! I bet on that sucker!

Saratoga Race Track

You can walk around before the races start and tour the grounds. You can catch a bus with a guide and they will answer any questions or just fill you in on the history of the racetrack as you tour.

September 6th the last day of the races for the season. What a great way to end the summer Labor Day Holiday.

Saratoga Race Track is one of the oldest nicest tracks. Perfect day for a picnic and to watch and bet on the horses.

(But of course I won!!!)
