La Tourette Golf Course
by adventerrtravel22
My favorite course on Staten Island. This course is located in Central Staten Island along the Greenbelt. This course has it's challanges and is a bit more forgiving with someone who has a slice like me. This course is very hilly, so rent a cart.
Also, you might want bring along some type of bug repellant.
Course Stats Bring your golf clubs, shoes, balls and tees. I believe there is a dress code of wearing a collared shirt and a nice pair of shorts.

Abandoned Ship yard
by adventerrtravel22
At Southern most Staten Island is an abandoned shipyard. There are all kinds of older ships; like ferries, tug boats and cargo ships wrecked here. At one time they were attached to a dock but the dock has since collapsed. At low tides you can actually get quite close to a tug boat.
Be careful, as the water recedes the "mud" can be quite tricky.
There is a guy who has explored this place quite extensively. Below are his web links.

"One year as an au-pair"
I really enjoyed 2004 since I spent it in a nice family in NYC.
Yeahhh ! even if it's not Manhattan, it is part of NYC !
I went to the Staten Island College for few months, in the ESL class. I met really nice people and I still keep in touch with some of them.
Kids I was looking for were little monsters ! just kiddin' ! I miss the family so much !
Otherwise, well, I visited Manhattan from Battery Park to Harlem, passing by Lower East Side or Central Park... and I loved it !

"Borough of Richmond"
Somewhat isolated from the rest of New York City, the borough of Richmond, otherwise known as Staten Island is reachable from Manhattan only by the Staten Island Ferry. The ferry provides twenty million people with passenger service between St. George, Staten Island and Whitehall Street in Manhattan.
Seventy thousand people take the ferry daily.
The five mile ride takes 25 minutes and offers a great view of New York Harbor. You will see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island as well as skyscrapers and bridges.
