Friends and a concert
by acemj
My last trip to Syracuse was one big party of a weekend. Friday night, my flight arrived at 9 and we were out in Armory Square bars till the wee hours. Then on Saturday it was fine dining and the Billy Joel concert followed by more partying on the Syracuse campus and then back in downtown. It was my first Billy Joel concert, which was great, but I think I'm getting too old for all the serious partying!

I live in Syracuse so I know the dos and dont's. When visiting you must check out the theater. There are many shows that constantly are running and Syracuse ALWAYS does a great job with them, especially at Syracuse Stage. Also explore Armory Square, it is the Greenwich village of Syracuse.

Hated the town. Went there for a bowling tournament. People don't care and have an attitude. Our hotel sucked. Had brown water the first day we were there. Would never 'go out of my way' to stop in Syracuse. Would avoid this town. Irish bar downtown
The only Basilica in the Syracuse Area
by donclark
Basilica of the Sacred Heart Church is the only Basilica in the Syracuse area. A Basilica is where the Pope would visit if he came to the region.
It's located on the West side off West Genesse street.
