The town of Montour Falls lies south of Watkins Glen, on Highway 14. A stream winds its way through the town, making its way down to Seneca Lake. The town has a number of waterfalls, some visible from the highway and others a short distance from it.
This town is famous for its raceway. I'm not a fan of NASCAR, but there is a great deal more here. Watkins Glen State Park is one of the most beautiful in the country. You can take a boat ride on Seneca Lake. Tour the nearby wineries. Browse in the shops and cafes on Decatur St. There's plenty here.
This is one of the best state parks anywhere. And it's just outside downtown Watkins Glen.
This is the largest and deepest of the Finger Lakes. Take a boat ride, or charter a fishing boat.
