Stay, eat and drink in the shadow of Whiteface

We had a wonderful stay at the Hungry Trout while skiing at Whiteface. The rooms were nice, clean and cutely decorated in Adirondack fishing themes. The prices were reasonable compared to Lake Placid down the hill and the owner was very accommodating. We took advantage of an unadvertised ski-and-stay special and got discount vouchers for lift tickets from the office. The added feature of the wonderful adjacent bar and restaurants was a great bonus that we also took advantage of. We will definitely be making a return trip!

Unique Quality: The motel is the shadow of Whiteface mountain and you can get to the parking lot to ski in a minute. The adjacent Hungry Trout restaurant and RF McDougals bar (named by Outdoor Life as one of America's Best Fishing Bars) http://www.outdoorlife.com/articles/fishing/2007/09/americas-best-fishing-bars make this motel stand out from the other places that surround Lake Placid.
