Best location for downtown
The Haywood is my first choice in Asheville. I like the rooms, they are comfortable and roomy. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is no pool but there is an exercise room on the 2nd floor and all of Asheville to walk around in.
Unique Quality: Great bathrooms. There is a TV in there as well as a big shower and a large tub. There is an additional sink outside the main bath. Some rooms have sitting areas which are separated from the sleeping room by a heavy curtain. The Hotel is VERY quiet and many rooms have nice views of the street. I LOVE THIS PLACE.
The only drawback is their ventilation system. The elevators and the "mini" lobbies on each floor smell like the restaurant that is downstairs. The rooms do not have this odor, and neither does the main lobby, but you do have to walk through the smell to go to and from your room.
