Was there for one night with a group. The meeting room was a bit dated / tired... but it was well lit and climate control was fine. We ate at their restaurant and it was a deli style sandwich lunch. Salad sides were good. So were the brownies. A bit tired looking once again. I would recommend this place but not if you are doing a romantic getaway. If you are doing something work related or family related, fine. But it is just a bit old and not to fresh appearing for a romantic getaway. bath room was clean, however. Bed mattress was DREDFUL. Felt like it was their since the hotel opened, which was clearly in the 60's I'd say.
Unique Quality: BEAUTIFUL setting. Lots of trees and flora... and walking distance to Blowing Rock Memorial park and all the small art shops and antique shops and small pubs and restaurants. Great location even if the hotel is a bit long in the tooth.
Directions: About a mile West of 321. 10 - 12 minutes to Boone and about 45 minutes from Hickory.
