Kuykendall Group Camp site is a very large group campsite in Pisgah National Forest that can accommodate up to 60 campers. Although the camp has a remote feel, it is only about 15 minutes to Brevard. The amenities are somewhat limited - vault toilets, a pump for potable water, a couple picnic tables, and fire pits. Also, there are no trash receptacles - you must pack out all garbage. Also, there is a creek crossing before the bridge. We've stayed here several times and never had trouble crossing, even in a compact sedan, but if the water level is high, a 4X4 vehicle may be necessary. From the campground, it is a short drive to many of the areas attractions, including Gorges State Park, DuPont State Forest, and the many waterfalls that lie in Transylvania County and surrounding areas.
