a wonderful life
Find a teenager there and talk to them....YES, they can do more than skateboard and listen to their music on headphones! The younger set in Bryson are interested in what goes on around them, and how things affect their town and their lives. They research and develop ways to help combat teen pregnancy and obesity, are interested in maintaining the ecological feaetures that make their area unique, while keeping Bryson what it is, a great place to live! All this and doing the things regular teens do, dance, work, hang with friends. You may find them training for the next Olympic tryouts in kayaking while maintaining a high grade average. Or playing team sports, going all the way to state champs, AND keeping their eye on college. They are the most unprejudiced and open young folks I have ever met in all my travels, and are the jewels of Bryson City. Hearing the train and owls hoot at night whenever I am somewhere else. Missing the fresh donuts from Aunt B's Donut shop, and the coffee club talk there in the mornings.
The streams and rivers everywhere. How the clouds change constantly. Anthony's PIZZA!
