More about The Inn on Pamlico Sound

Loved the Inn on Pamlico Sound

by A TripAdvisor Member

We chose the Inn on Pamlico Sound for ou 15th wedding anniversary. It was absolutely wonderful! The innkeepers are attentive to their guests every need. "Casual elegance" is the perfect description of this bed and breakfast. We arrived worn and frazzled and left rested and relaxed. The views of the Albemarle Sound are spectacular. Breakfast each morning was wonderful. Steve and Laura were always available to answer questions for us. We will definitely be returning!

Best Getaway Ever

by A TripAdvisor Member

We've been visitors to the Outer Banks for many years but the Inn on Pamlico Sound was our first Bed & Breakfast experience there and it was delightful. Steve and Laura made us feel welcome and comfortable. The room and amenities were very accommodating, we really enjoyed sampling from the well-populated film list. Breakfasts were amazing, the attention to detail and personal preference was of the highest quality and truly generous. And of course, having all this with an incredible view of the Sound made it the best of getaways for us.

Heaven on Earth

The Inn on Pamlico Sound is the most wonderful place to stay on the Outerbanks!
If you are looking for a piece of renewing your spirit, getting away from the stress of life. This is the place for you!
We stayed in the Oleander room and it was absoutely beautiful! The breathtaking view from the private deck was amazing. If you want to see heaven, then hope for a sunset of clear skies and you won't be disappointed.

A bonus is the amazing breakfast that is prepared by Steve and Laura. It is the most amazing three course meal you will ever taste!

I have been a frequent visitor to the Outerbanks of NC. My stays have been in Nags Head and Oracoke but the true accomodation is found here at the INN on the Palmico sound in Buxton!!! I again can't not express the beauty, peace, and tranquilty of this beautiful inn!!

Thank you again!!

Calm and Relaxing

We had a wonderful time at the Inn. We stayed in their magnificent Jasmine room with a king sized bed, jacuzzi tub, and a view to die for. Though it was a bit chilly and we did not get to enjoy thier fully accessible bikes and kayaks, we took advantage of their hospitality with a bottle of shampagne, strawberries, and the movie of our choice out of their collection of hundreds (which of course came to our room and was nicely arranged while we were out on an outing). Needless to say, even when the weather is dreary, staying at the Inn on Pamlico Sound can make your beach weekend fantastic.

Relaxing and romantic

The Inn on Pamlico Sound is a treasure find on the Hatteras Island. The innkeepers, Steve and Laura strive to make you feel as comfortable and welcomed as if you were immediate family. The gourmet breakfasts were a delight each morning. We stayed in the Oleander Room which offered sensational soundviews. We have been to Hatteras Island several times, but this is the first time we indulged ourselves to pampering at the Inn. This was an anniversary getaway and can't wait to go back!

Welcome to another world....

This inn is the perfect respite from everyday life! My husband and I stayed at the Pamlico Inn for our Honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed sleeping with the windows open and waking to the sunrise over the sound and the call of the indigenous birds. Time stands still here and you forget about clocks, deadlines and the everyday stress of ordinary life. The 3-course breakfast is phenomonal and you are waited on hand-and-foot during your entire stay. There are many activities on the inn to take part in, to include mountain bikes (a quick and easy ride to Cape Hatteras Lighthouse), kayaks on the sound and a library of books and DVD's beyond compare. A new addition, is the wine cooler, where you can purchase wine and return to your room or sit out in front of the sound for a quiet toast. Steve and Laura, the innkeepers are fantastic people that really demonstrate what true customer service is and show that they actually care about their inn and guests. The website photos of this inn do it no justice, you MUST see it for yourself! I felt like royalty staying at this inn and my only regret is that I have bragged about it to so many people, I'm scared there will be "no vacancy". Did I mention the return guest program and the guest referrals? Too many perks to count with this inn! :)

Wonderful B&B

by A TripAdvisor Member

We stayed at the Inn on Pamlico Sound over Memorial Day weekend, and enjoyed it tremendously. The innkeepers, Laura and Steve, are so warm and welcoming. The accommodations were charming (their website photos are accurate), and the breakfasts were out of this world. We are definitely planning to go again.

Loved the serenity and hospitality

I have just returned from our stay in Buxton, NC. cape hatteras. This was our 2nd time at a B&B, but our first trip to the OBX. We loved it! The Inn had very friendly staff and family, they had excellent gormet breakfasts, coffee, and delicious snacks...I couldnt have felt more pampered if i had booked a spa..... They had a pool, bikes, kayaking, hammocks and swings in various places so no one felt crowded even when the inn was full...Not to mention the huge selection of movies for your room ( which was huge and beautifull) or to watch on there 108 inch screen in their awsome theater room...
I would definantly go back just to stay at the inn.. even if i didnt want to play on the beach or fish. THey have the most beautifull periwinkle skies and sunsets to make you fall in love all over again. We celebrated our 14th anniversary there and could not had picked a more perfect place. I am still bragging to all my coworkers about my relaxing and rejuvinating time there on the coast. You wont be disappointed If you make the Inn at Pamlico your next choice to stay.
