Cheeto eating gulls
hi, everybody --
i am considering moving to carolina
beach, NC. what is it like?
what does decent housing near the
ocean cost -- for example, one or
two bedrms? either house or apt?
does everything close up in the
winter, including restaurants?
are there good medical facilities
is there a good veterinarian nearby?
can you get cable TV, and DSL for
is this hurricane territory?
and, most important of all, is the
AND -- are there any other small to
medium towns along the NC coast
that are especially pleasant places
to live but that have not become so
trendy that regular people wouldn't
want to live there full-time?
thanks -- susie margaret ross
Tell me when you get good feedback because I have similar questions!
I have been living in CB for a while. It is pretty nice here...to answer some of your questions...your 1 to 2 bedrm places could vary everywhere from $650-$1000 (1) and $800-1600$ (2) depending on location. There is a good selection of restraunts on CB, but really the best thing, and this pertains to other questions as well (including medical facilities), is that CB is so close to Wilmington. Wilmington is a nice city with many amenities. You can get Roadrunner for your cable and internet needs. Two negatives is that yes hurricanes do occasionaly hit here (as with any beach community really), and unless you are on the North end, in the summer the beach is not dog friendly. CB does die down quite a bit in the winter but all in all, i love it here.
People are very friendly and of course, it is beutiful. Good luck to ya
