Oasis Suites: Nice Place on the Bay

Srayed four days for a wedding. being on the beach wasn't a priority so we didn't mind being on the bay side near the bridge to Roanoke Island. The suite we had was very large. It had a bedroom, living room area and another king sized bed in an alcove off the living area. Two flat screen TVs were nice. The bath had a separate shower and soaking tub that I made good use of. On the downside there was a real lack of closet space and drawers. Also parking was tricky if you have a full sized car. There are columns between pairs of parking spaces and you have little room to spare when pulling in. It is near good restaurants for all price ranges and there is a Food Lion down the road 5 minutes. The suites have full kitchens and the housekeeping staff is friendly and efficient. Overall it was a good experience.

Harley's Hut: Highly Recommended!

The location of Harley's Hut was also very good! Just one block from beach access, several blocks from Hwy. 158 and a variety of grocery stores, restaurants, hospital, malls, and shopping outlets. There is nothing I can think of that is not within a 5 or 10 minute drive from the house.

Harley's Hut: One of the Nicest Places with ALL the Amenities!

This Place was Great!

This house was constructed in 2001 and not only was great detail given to providing outstanding accomodations but also every convenience that you could hope to have! It was available directly from the owners which greatly reduced the cost as opposed to being listed by a realty company. The contact number is listed in these pages should you be interested.

The really neat part is that nearly everything you might need is provided... linens, towels, washer & dryer, iron & ironing board, even toilet paper and detergent for washing clothes! This was quite unique because in so many weekly rentals, you have a place to stay but must spend a lot of money on basic essentials. Not the case here! Read more in the tips and travelogue!

Very Clean and well decorated! All facilities worked well though a cooling element had to be replaced while we were there, but the owners were good to let us know that the repairman would be coming and the work was done in minimal time.

As you will see in the pictures, there were 3 levels to this house. The bottom or entrance level contained a playroom for kids complete with toys and games (2 single beds) plus the laundry room with toilet and vanity and an additional refrigerator/freezer.

The second level housed three bedrooms and a bathroom with a door leading outside to a deck. On this outside level was the hot tub. One level higher was the master bedroom with its own bathroom, kitchen, and living area. There is a large table capable of seating all of us (12) with TV, DVD, and VHS player in addition to a pretty nice selection of movies to view. Sliding glass doors lead outward to a screened porch that also has a dining table to accomodate another 4-6 persons. Step outside from here to the upper deck with a good breeze and a view of the ocean.

Other amenities include an outside shower for bathing when coming in from the beach and a killer grill. Let's not forget the pool area with lots of chairs and completely fenced with a security lock to prevent children from entering without adults.

There are many diferent type of homes beach front it just depends on want you prefer. Non smoking/smoking, pets/no pets, pool/no pool, hot tub/** well you know there has to be a HOT TUB!! What ever you want it's here in a home on the beach. Go to Google.com and search NC outer banks to look for realtors in the area like village realty, sun and many more!

Beach front access

Access to the beach in Nags Head is pretty limited in certain areas so choose wisely. Beach front properties have thier own access and the beach there is uderstood to be yours, so people don't just camp out in front of the place you paid a lot of money for. Most of these houses have a nice deck that comes out to the beach.

Our view from the third deck

I mean, is this a view or what? This is from our deck on the third level, the second level of deck had the beautiful hot tub on the corner. It did rain while we were there so we put the tarp that covered the bed of our truck on the drive down, this tarp was handy used on the third deck over the hot top to keep the rain off, too cool!

Ocean Front Baby!

Get an ocean front house in Nags Head for the most peaceful time of your life. You have your own private beach access or board walk. We had a very short walk from our deck to the beach and the beach is yours, it's not like Ocean City Virgina Beach, it seems to be like having your own private beach. You can leave your stuff out all day without fear of people taking something, low crime here.

Most of these houses have any where from 2 to 8 bedrooms that can sleep up to around 20 people, this house had 5 bedrooms and slept 16, split the cost with other people and it brings your cost down beacause it works out to be around 2K to 5K per week, so around $300.00 to $500.00 per night if you don't split the cost!

any cottage in the area: cottage rental

Realty companies or individuals rent cottages out during the peak tourist seasons. Oftentimes, when you factor it out by the night, you come out well ahead of what you would pay at a national chain hotel. However, the price of rental depends upon the amenities it offers and its proximity to the beach.

Pirate's Cove

Pirate's Cove is a gated resort and residential community located on the border of Nags Head and Manteo, and is surrounded by the Roanoke Sound. It is minutes from the beaches in Nags Head. They have condos, townhomes, houses and boat slips available to rent.

There is a pool and kiddie pool available to guests, a small gameroom, tennis courts, snackbar and playgrounds. They have their own ships store for the fishing charters that leave Pirate's Cove every day, as well as Hurricane Mo's restaurant. Their clubhouse offers classes guests can sign up for, such as water aerobics, glass painting, candle making, etc. at minimal cost. They host a kid's fishing tournament twice a week, which is for children 3 and up, for $5. We relaxed many evenings just by feeding the ducks.
