Out of the 100's of hotels in the 47 states in the US, that I have stayed in throughout the past few years, this was probably the worst. The front desk attendant, Sarah, could barely be bothered to get up from her chair when I arrived to check in around midnight. I noticed that I had a queen room booked, and since I was traveling with a colleague I requested two doubles instead. Sarah informed me that the only way this was possible would be to get online and make another reservation. Really? That's the typical policy? "Get online and make another when you aren't satisfied with the first!" Since I was completely baffled and exhausted, I just signed for the queen and headed to my room. When I went in, I was greeted with an awful smokey smell in my non smoking room. I asked again to switch rooms, and this time Sarah called her supervisor, who said that if I paid 11 dollars more, I could switch to the doubles. I took this offer, arrived in my new room...had no soap, and trash al ready in the trashcan. I just asked for more soap and am now headed to bed, completely annoyed, and upset that this has been such an awful experience.
