Travel Tips for Raleigh

Oakwood Cemetary

by Maria250

Oakwood Cemetary is the resting place of 2,800 Confederate Soldiers, 5 Civil War Generals, 7 governors, and many U.S. Senators. Established in 1869 it is an excellent example of lovely Victorian landscaping. Yes, it's a sad place yet peaceful and comforting too.

518 West has really inspired Italian food. Yancey's, a Cajun/Creole restaurant in the City Market area, has satisfying food and live jazz. The 42nd Street Oyster House is a fine seafood restaurant. The Irregardless cafe is funky and has good sandwiches, salads, and light fare.

a cozy diner/cafe

by MovingMere about Hayes Barton

A restaurant with decor to honor the World War II generation, Hayes Barton is reminiscent of another generation. It is housed in a smallish space, so go with some extra time or at a non peak hour. The desserts are the reason for many patrons' visit. They're yummy and served in very large portions, so bring a friend to share it with or get it to go.

It's fun to sit near at the window at night, perched on a barstool with a view of Five Points while enjoying a delicious slice of cake.

Trip to Raleigh - Visite à Raleigh

"Raleigh"

I haven't really been able to visit the Raleigh area since I was on a business trip.

Je n'ai pas vraiment eu la chance de visiter la région de Raleigh puisque j'y étais en voyage d'affaires.

However, I had the chance to eat at The Angus Barn, a well-renowned steak house in Raleigh.

J'ai cependant eu la chance d'aller manger chez "The Angus Barn", une maison de steak très renommée.
