A good place to stay in west Raleigh, especially if you are in town to visit NC State, attend an event at the RBC Center/Carter-Finley Stadium or go to the State Fairgrounds as it is within walking distance. It is also a fairly quick drive to RDU International, although there are places closer. I have stayed (and tailgated for football games) there many times without a problem. What the place lacks is dining in the immediate area. You will probably not get to a restaurant on foot from here, but there are a few choices just a short drive away.
Gazebos in the courtyard are the perfect place to tailgate just before heading down trinity road for the football game. The North Carolina Museum of Art is right down the road. Theme: HotelDirections: West Raleigh
