The Carolina Hurricanes NHL team, based in the Raleigh/Durham area of NC, are located here. The RBC Center is located off of Wade Avenue, Raleigh. The Hurricanes used to be the Hartford Whalers. NCSU also plays their basketball games here. Your hockey jersey.
This place has the best sushi in town and has been rated #1 in Japanese cuisine for this area. It is definitely the freshest sushi I have ever had and it has kept me coming back for more. The restaurant is not large and not overly fancy, but it has very authentic Japanese chefs and food and that is what is important to me. I love the crunchy, sweet dragon, shamoo, and spicy tuna rolls. I recently got the spicy tuna hand roll and it was awesome but very spicy! The salads with ginger dressing and Miso soup are also very delicious.
The ambiance of the restaurant is reason enough to go, but the food puts it over the top. When we pulled up to the parking lot next to Taco Bell, I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised.
According to the website, Shaba is the Thai word for hibiscus, the tropical flower, and Shabu is swish in Japanese, referring to the restaurant's way of preparing beef, seafood, and veggies right at your table.
You could make it an inexpensive night out with a $10 entree, or you could splurge for the $40 kobe beef. With such a wide variety of well-prepared foods, it warrants more than one visit.

This is our house in Northeastern Wake County, North Carolina. It's a nice neighborhood of average priced homes, in a good school district.
