Travel Tips for Fargo
A weekend getaway
by Redlats
Fargo offers us an opportunity to get away for a weekend. It is pretty quiet.
Pretty bad that a city of 70,000 can afford the Fargodome (an enclosed football stadium), whereas Winnipeg at nine times bigger only has an aging outdoor stadium.
Fargo has a new zoo that opened in 1999. We will have to tour it on our next visit.

Fargo River Front
by Tdawg40sw
The river front area of Fargo is a great place to get out and walk, hike, bike, or run. There is an extensive network of bike paths along the river on both the Fargo, and Moorhead sides. The path network also boasts several pedestrian/bike only bridges for easier crossing between Fargo and Moorhead. These bridges are located at Oak Grove, Dike West, and Lindenwood Park.
After the completion of the new Main Ave bridge between Fargo and Moorhead, many historical markers were erected detailing the history of that area. Most of these markers include photos as well.
In the summer months, there are also river tours offered near the Hjemkomst center. Here, you can also rent kayaks.
Fargo Air Museum
by my2kids
The Fargo Air Museum opened in August 2001 and is committed to educating the public about aviation and its impact on society, preserve local aviation heritage, inspire the public about the freedom, thrill and exhilaration of flight, awaken patriotism in youth, and commemorate those before who have fought and sacrificed their lives for our country and our freedom.
Some of the aircraft that you will see includes F2G-1D – the world’s only flying SuperCorsair and one of the only three existing in the world; a Beech Staggerwing – aka “Queen of the Sky” is one of the all-time classic airplanes - uses in WWII on reconnaissance missions and to carry the generals.
There is always something new flying into the Fargo Air Museum.

"close to the 10,000 lakes"
Welcome to Fargo!! I don't have any real pictures of (Fargo) but this is a sweet city of rivers, parks and educational centers the best of shopping you can find here and friendly people with all nationalitys living together in peace.
we have so many good and fun eating places and summer activities going on within the state of North Dakota and Minnesota ,,fairs and picnics and hoiday events are always keeping this city alive with heart and warmth.
There is 5 good months of warmth out of the year from may to september and the rest is bitterly cold with snow and ice and plenty of hills for children to slide and sled down. winter months are long and a bit on the dark side and can be dragging a persons spirit down a bit by the time march hits but an imaginative mind of indoor activities helps beat the winter depressions and traveling to a warmer spot for vacation can sometimes bring back some color and joy to a person in the waiting for spring to arrive. The changes in seasons are such a gift from the coloring leaves of fall to the snow of winters and the green grass of summer and the flowers of spring.
It is a city that is so safe to live and at times a little boring because this is all flat lands here for miles all around this city and state. What you see is corn fields and wheat,no mountains and no Ocean, but if you are loving a country drive you can find many area lakes that will fill your soul with comfort and peace. you can see Farmers hard at work in there fields and wild flowers hugging the sides of the roads and all sky as far as the eye can see, with green green grass and hayfields and corn, big red barns and cows grazing in the grass..it's a peaceful and charming state but be ready for a long drive if your going thru this state,,, wishing for mountains and things like that is not going to happen until you hit the badlands of North Dakota wich then you can see big big hills and wild horses running free and Buffoloe roaming this great land but this is far into the state so nothing to see until you see the hills of the badlands but still it's charming and sweet and I love my home town.
I hope you enjoy my pages of Fargo North Dakota.
Chilly But Relatively Fun...

Fargo's a fairly nice town. Everyone is very friendly and easy to get to know. Be on the lookout for those slow drivers or those that don't know how to at all.
If you're looking for a good nightclub and not picky about who's there, check out the I-Beam club. It's actually in Moorhead but it has great dance music and lots of friendly people!
