If you find yourself in Fargo during the summer for more than a day or two and the weather is great, you may want to think about taking a ride down the Ottertail River in an inner tube! It's a very relaxing ride for 1, 2 or 20 people. You can bring pretty much whatever you want with you down the river to eat/drink. Just remember to bring a cooler or two and maybe some plastic bags so things don't get quite as wet!
The Hjemkomst Center in Moorhead is worth a look.
The replica stavkirke (stav church) Is a little bit of Scandinavian culture. Also the unique tensile roof of the main building is definatly a sight.
I've had three different stints living in Fargo. I first came in the early 80's to put up cell phone towers. I later lived here during grad school and returned for good in 2000.
It's the best of all possible worlds for me. There's enough city to stay sane, some nice restaurants and yet it only takes fifteen minutes to cross town even in the worst traffic.
Spent a day and a night in Fargo ND. The night I stayed there, the town was having a firework display right outside my hotel. Quite the sight! The downtown area has several quaint shops, and is very easy to navigate around.
