My Hometown, Akron, Ohio
"Firestone Park"
I used to live on Grant St. Later we moved to Herberich Ave. If you want to see some cool stuff in the Park, there isn't much. Akron U is right at the end of Brown Street. Downtown is adjacent to AU.
"Children's Hospital Chistmas Tree Benefit"
Every year we go to the Gala night before the tree exhibit starts. It is always so nice there. There's live music and good food. The auction that follows is fun. The past few years we have been in bidding wars for the best wreath in the show. It is for such a good cause, I don't mind spending a lot for them. The past few years, we have come home with a tree as well. I will be donating some of them to local children's hospitals after this season. Quaker Square is the place to be for this. Stay in the Quaker Hotel. It used to be Quaker Oats silo, but has been converted into a very charming hotel. You actually sleep in the silo rooms. The decor is slightly dated, but it was recently part of the Hilton chain, so it compares well with them still. I think it is currently a Crown Plaza. I miss getting my Hilton HHonors points for going.
