Travel from CT to Cleveland
by brycejeffcoat
My wife and I are planning a trip to Cleveland in November. We were just curious what kind of things there are to do along the way, i.e. interesting landmarks, restaurants, etc.

The most direct route between Connecticut and Cleveland is I-80 and, honestly, that's a very, very dull drive. They deliberately built the road away from the urban areas of the state, so it misses most towns and cities in the area.
If I were doing this drive, I would either follow the smaller highways through the Catskills, Finger Lakes and Southern Tier in New York, or even drop down to Philadelphia and follow the Turnpike (or a more scenic, slower route) to Pittsburgh. Both are just more interesting than I-80, but do take more time. Lots to see and do on these routes, also, and you should really make two days out of it, at least.

I would definitely go through the Finger Lakes region in NY and do some wine tasting. Erie has a lakeshore state park (Presque Isle) that is nice and if you can drive at a leisurely pace take Rte 6 across the northern tier of PA. You can also take a coal mine tour in the Scranton/Wilkes Barre area and visit the site of the first oil well which is a state park near Titusville, PA.
Travel Tips for Cleveland
good laugh

rock and roll hall of fame is a must see when u come here its a working class big enough city. nice people and a good nightlife. i was working there and ended up socialising in all parts of the city, from mansion houses to ghetto projects. never had a problem there. there were 10 of us from ireland north and south. we turned up at a party in a realy dodgy project with 10 cases of beer and a couple of bottles of vodka. the local gangsters couldnt believe it . said we were crazy. wot a night !
1) See the new Cleveland...
by MarkCortell
1) See the new Cleveland Browns Stadium for the first time!!! It is awesome and the people of Cleveland are so proud of it! They refer to it as 'our new Stadium'.
2) See an Indians Game at Jacobs Field. The best baseball park and the best fans in America.
3) Go to the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame.
4) Party, Eat and Drink in the Flats. Flying to Cleveland for one day...catching an Indians game at Jacobs field in the afternoon...then quickly over to the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame and then to the new Cleveland Browns Stadium for the expansion Browns first win (a preseason game) against the Bears in August of 1999.
Do not show your love for the Steelers
by chehal216330
In Cleveland, football is very important to us. During the fall, the stadium downtown will be packed with Browns fans and you will see numerous tailgaters. Avoid traffic before and after each game at all costs! And remember, Clevelanders do not like Pittsburgh Steelers fans! Cleveland Rocks!
Packing List

Well, this REALLY depends on when you plan on visiting! Monday it was in the low 20's F and very windy with lots of snow and today it is in the mid 40's F and wet and rainy. tomorrow we could drop to 0 F and in the summers it can get as hot as 100+. An umbrella is a good choice no matter what time of year and if you are wearing drss shoes, rubber covers are not a bad plan.
Cleveland Force Professional Indoor Soccer
by kdoc13
Indoor Soccer is pretty cool. It is fast paced, and the scoring is more frequent than in outdoor soccer. It has been a while since I watched indoor soccer. The MISL killed off the team I grew up with (Canton Invaders forever baybee!) but I still love the game, even when they try silly things like a three point goal.
It is a lot of fun to watch in person.
