Blue Jacket's Hockey palace - a beautiful (thankfully privately funded) arena located in the downtown area. The arena also provides a location for concerts in the off-hockey season. There are lots of restaurants and bars in this area, as well as some new residential housing.

Cup O Joes are everywhere in Columbus. The one I go to is at the Lennox Mall where Olentangy River Rd deadends. Your typical laidback coffeehouse atmosphere. Great place to take your laptop and look like a hipster. The staff is always friendly and full of sleeve tatoos, which is pretty cool to me:)

Beautiful Scioto River

If you want to enjoy the scenery around Columbus, take a trip down the Scioto River. It is probably the most relaxing part of Columbus. Take a boat ride or go fishing. It's a great way to enjoy a lazy day.

South High Street

On High Street south of the capitol mall is a concentration of older downtown buildings from the late 19th century that have been restored for office and hotel space above and street level restaurants and shops below. Many of these are part of the northern edge of the original German Village as it intersected with downtown. The Schlee-Kemmler Building (1895) is a good example of guilded age architecture, in this case of romanesque architectural design. The building structure is iron clad with stone. A more famous example is at the corner of Main and High Streets--The Great Southern Hotel and Theater (1897)--a brick building of colonial revival architectural style. The restoration effort in this hotel reflects the current boutique hotel trend by Westin within a number of North American cities. Both of these buildings, as well as several others in this area, are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

"The Buckeyes!!!"

The Buckeyes are huge in Ohio, especially in Columbus. While I don't like the Buckeyes, I have to admit, the atmosphere in Columbus, during football season is awesome. Hanging out on campus during a game is incredible.

"The Scioto River"

In my opinion, it is one of the most beautiful rivers in the state, other than the Ohio.

"Blue Jackets Hockey!!!"

Somewhat new to the Columbus area, Blue Jackets hockey is the only professional hockey team in Ohio.
