Annual Hempfest - High Hippies on campus

Every first weekend in June at the South Oval on the OSU campus is the annual Hempfest. You can find this area by following your nose to that sweet aroma of the wacky weed which I am sure people use for 'medical purposes'. it is really pretty cool, with a very laid back, trouble free vibe. If you are a uptight conservative you might want to stay away, or come even to expand your horizons. Great local bands play on four stages. All the usual assortments of vendors selling pipes, bongos, hemp maid jewelry, colorful clothing and the like. Several food booths as well. I like it because of the atmosphere, it is pretty pleasant, without a bunch of drunk and obnoxious fratboy and soriety snobs running around. The leftys won't bite, I promise, because they will be too stoned:) The website is ohiohempfest.com.

There are soooo many good restaurants in Columbus! Quite honestly I think Columbus has one of the largest number of restaurants per capita, if that makes sense, of any city. While it's not a huge city, there are TONS of GOOD restaurants with many and varied types of cuisine. Just to name a few that I like: Schmidt's Sausage Haus in German Village, Skyline Chili, Barcelona, Tapatio, Donato's Pizza, Panda Inn, Mac's in the Short North, Chipotle
It's a family affair

Everything at this Italian chain is larger-than-life. Buca Di Beppo (a.k.a. Joe's Basement) features a subterranean network of cozy dining rooms loudly decorated in Italian kitsch. Just like getting together with the family, Buca succeeds in recreating the boisterous atmosphere of the typical Italian family dinner (they also take you on a tour of the kitchen before seating you). Well as you can see from this picture, my brother Steven (on the left) is trying to get me to hold Jalen so that he can eat his meal. I say No Way Jose!!! But really folks this is a pretty good Italian restaurant. Try the Tortelloni with meat, broccoli, peas, tomatoes and mushrooms in a cream sauce (yummy). Also try the 9 Layer Lasagna (OMG...it's huge). The Garlic Bread is delicious and the Tiramisu is divine. Overall, a very nice italian restaurant with huge portions, I guarantee you will go home with a doggie bag (woof, woof...lol).
Summer outdoor movies at the Wexner

Lawn chairs, friends, movie and drinks what more could you want??
Once a month during the summer, the Wexner will show an out door movie, how nifty is that. Showings are usually at 9pm, you are to bring you own chairs or blankets etc.
They will be showing classics like "The Big Heat" etc.
Along with these events the Wexner has many more activities, check out their website for new exhibits etc.
They also show classic movies through out various times of the year, which I enjoy. For instance they were showing "Two For the Road" on Valentines' day. Just keep a look out for events you might like
Broad and High Street Redo and Expansion

The most historic corner in the city is surely Broad and High Street, and north of the Statehouse grounds is a dramatic redevelopment project that includes improvement of the historic and expansion of the 8 on Square condo tower on High Street, and the corner "Signage"--a high-tech scrolling color advertising architecture feature right on the corner of High and Broad Streets.
