Veterans Memorial Plaza by atufft
On the Northeast side of the Ohio Supreme Court Building is a tribute to Vietnam Veterans. This is a complex plaza memorial that includes meditation benches, two water fountains, and curved limestone walls inscribed with war correspondence. The statehouse history website describes the memorial's locale on the statehouse grounds as originally the site of an illegal plywood memorial erected in the night by Vietnam veterans who wanted the names of Ohio's war dead to be remembered. Expansive lawns and a fine example of a buckeye tree, Ohio's state tree, are nearby.
