Worldly Chef handke
by stacks about Handke's Cuisine
Best restaurant in Columbus, Ohio. Chef Handke is a Certified Master Chef that has studied all over the world. His expertise comes out through his cuisine. The restaurant is in an old beer cellar. Very romantic and beautiful. Caesar salad served in parmesan cheese basket, veal entree, and of course the chocolate terrine. There is also a desert trio that has three or four different desserts. yum
Best burgers in Polaris
by AnitaCarrie about Cheeseburger in Paradise
Although it is a chain, Cheeseburger in Paradise is a great place to grab a burger and chill. In CbinP in Polaris the staff was friendly, the food came out quick and it was great. They have pretty good happy hour deals (Margaritas, Mojitos, beer...). They also have wheatbun option, side veggies or rice.... veggieburger and turkeyburger options. Burgers! their fries aren't too bad too...
Take in an Ohio State Buckeyes...

Take in an Ohio State Buckeyes football game.
If you are in Columbus on a weekend in the fall this is something you absolutely must do, particularly if you are a college football fan. The Horseshoe or 'Shoe' as it is called is a Mecca of college football. You have not experienced college football unless you have been to see the Buckeyes play in their home stadium. It has recently been fully refurbished, and it looks great! Wear your scarlet and gray. Don't be caught dead here wearing maize and blue (SSSSSS!!!)
Spirit of '98 Memorial
by atufft
Closest to the west entrance to the Ohio statehouse is a statue of moderate size, of an American infantry soldier posing in action with a rifle. This bronze statue was commissioned and dedicated by the United Spanish War Veterans Memorial Commission in honor of those who fought in the Spanish-American War, Philippine insurrection and rebellion, and the Chinese relief effort of that epoch.
Fumbler8's Columbus Page

My sister, my boyfriend and I travelled down to Columbus for the July 4th weekend to see Lilith Fair at the Polaris Amphitheatre. It was an amazing show and trip! Sarah McLachlan didn't perform because she was sick, but we saw Sinead O'Connor, the Indigo Girls, Me'shell Ndegeocello, and Natalie Merchant (to name a few!). We made a valiant effort to find fireworks on July 4th, which happened to be a saturday night, but we were informed that the huge Columbus fireworks display (which I had heard was the best) happened on Friday night. Okay, maybe I'm just a little off, but wouldn't it make more sense to have the fireworks ON July 4th??? Especially if it falls on a saturday night!!! Anyway, we ventured into town to find something to do, and everything was closed! We stumbled across one amazing bar.....
See my tips section for the name.....=)
