Travel Tips for Columbus

Cheap Drinks!!!

by jennwerner about Dino's Pizza and Pub

This place has cheap drinks. Really Cheap and it really isnt a bad place to kill some time before an activity on the North Side. Not the best area of town but not to bad. This place has karoke on Friday and Saturday nights. IT has a pool table, several dart boards, big screen tv's and a really fun staff. If your looking to karoke this is a good place to go. The juke box has a great selection even the latest songs are available on it. You can wear what ever you want.

Italian with Atmosphere

by jennwerner about Bucca DI Beppo

This place is like it is trying to recreate an Italian place. However after having been to Italy its more of an Amercianized Italian Place. The place is huge. Literally it goes back forever. All kinds of cool Italian decor and they even have a table in the kitchen. The food is all served family style for sharing and the portions are the largest I have ever seen in my life. The food is really really good. THe place is packed on weekends. SO if your looking for romantic this isnt it. THere are tons of birthdays and bachelorette parties happening in here on any given night of the week. I would suggest going late afternoon or late evening on a week night. THe bar service is really slow here so if you drink quick order two drinks at once. The peach bellini was really delicious. SO make a reservation if you dont want to wait for hours and hours.... Husband loves the lasagna. I love the garlic mashed potatoes and veggies as I dont like cheese. The garlic bread is served with real chunks of garlic on it I wasnt prepared for that...

The Santa Maria

by kylene2005

The Santa Maria's tours dramatize the daring and determination it took for Columbus and his explorers to set out on their mission. Experience the lives they led, interact with replicas of the navigational tools they used, play the games they played to pass the time.

Make your plans now to visit the world's most authentic, museum-quality replica of Christopher Columbus' flagship.

They entered Submarines at COSI

by butterflykizzez04

While at the Cosi museum in Columbus, there was a section on water. They got to go into a real submarine. It was very exciting for them. They took turns climbing down into it.

It was actually a two seater, but they went one by one. Also there was a room that was set up like radio controll in bottom of navy sub. they got to put on headphones and push buttons that lit up..it was fun for them.

Columbus Ohio

by cmcarney

I am currently attending school in Columbus. I call it home because its were my husband and cats are. Its an ok city but nothing I would go out of my way to see

It is, however, a good launch point for mini vacations in Ohio. One of my favorite places so far is Hocking Hills State park. They have many hiking trails that take you through valleys and usually end in a magnificent waterfall. It is called the hot tub capitol of the world because I think about 98% of the cabins have hot tubs. There is nothing better than a hot tub in a secluded cabin after a day of hiking. We went in March it was a bit chilly but the light snow just added to the charm and the rates were really cheap.

We also went to 6-flags Theme Park. I am not a big roller coaster person but my husband said they were great. I thought they had a wonderful waterpark. The animal show left a lot to be desired.
