People are very slow paced in Central Ohio
by Columbus83
Columbus has nearly two million people in the central ohio area. The people in Columbus are extremely friendly for the most part, in fact its very common for the "pardon me" and "pleases" ta get annoying after a few days.
Despite the last paragraph, Columbus is a very slow paced city where people walk slow and it takes a half hour(an exaggeration, but usually at least 5 minutes) ta get a chesseburger from a fast food resturant
Columbus has the largest somali population outside of Minneapolis (around 50,000 somali populate mainly the whitehall-baldwin and northern sections of the city)
Columbus also has a large arab population that lives mainly in the Olentangy-Clintonville section
Columbus Italian Food
by tee0206 about Martini's Italian Bistro
This is one of my favorite Columbus restaurants. It's a great date restaurant. The ambience is elegant, yet not over-the-top. The service and the food is also great. It's part of the Cameron Mitchell chain, which is very familiar in the Columbus area. I haven't had anything I didn't like from that restaurant, and I've been there many times. Last time I went, I had an amazing martini with berries and champagne.
Don't miss the sandwiches
by spartan about Jordan's Mart and Deli
A local mom & pop shop serving up great sandwiches. I can't remember the name of the sandwich, but it had lots of meat, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes on an Italian sub bun with a side order of chicken dumpling soup.

Battelle Waterfront Park & Italian-American Statue
by atufft
The Battelle Waterfront Park along the Scioto River is a popular place for Columbus residents to jog. This is the location of the Santa Maria replica, several minor memorials, fountains, etc. It's a nice place to be around sunset as it faces west across the river. One of the minor and often forgotten memorials is the Italian-American immigrant statue which actually enjoys a great location with the LaVeque building in the background.
