Soused

Well, I don't really want to call it a fond memory, but I went to the University of Dayton for a semester. Hated it.

The riverscape area is the newest attraction in downtown Dayton. The riverscape area is home to festivals in the summer, Laser shows, Ice skating during the winter, and the five rivers fountains (see pic!)
Check out the web page for the schedule of activities, directions, and general questions.
Jokers Comedy Club
by kdoc13 about Jokers Comedy Club
Jokers is my favorite Comedy club in Dayton. I actually worked there from time to time back in the days. It has since changed management is is better than ever. The talent is great, service great, and very friendly. Plus, there is parking and it is in a very safe place. There is a police station no more than a block away. Check out the website for prices, upcoming shows, directions, and menu. And as always, don't forget to tip your waitress.... I think clothing is all that is required, and that has been known to go by the wayside from time to time too.
innovative Chinese
by twofishblu about Bamboo Grill
Unlike most Chinese restaurants in this area, this place has authentic, rather than formulaic, food. It's not the order-by number, 200+ choices that we've come to expect. The decor is minimal, but very interesting, showcasing some of the owner's pieces from China. Service has always been outstanding, and they have a small wine list too.
It's adjacent to an ice cream parlor, and there's a small, cheaper movie theater just up the street. There are various shops and restaurants (even a few bars/coffeehouses) around Troy's fountain square, so you can make an evening "out of the city" by coming up here. It's probably less than 30 minutes from Dayton. My favorite is "flaming chicken"...I can't remember what it's called...but they light it up w/diluted 151, and it's GREAT. Lots of vegetables, huge portion, amazing flavor. The noodle dishes are really good too...and a rare find at most places. My family is addicted to the soups--my sister goes crazy for the corn soup.
