Best Western Plus: Great Amenities~
Since we were staying at least five days, they gave us a huge discount. This facility has lots of wonderful amenties and were please with the cleanliness and service. There were some hiccups, but nothing the hotel was willing to fix right away.

Clarion Hotel - Sandusky: Cedar Point's "Sleeper"!!!
This is an amazingly wonderful place to stay in Sandusky! We took a mini-vacation to Cedar Point in early August 2004. I booked our room at the Clarion and was a little skeptical about the quality we may encounter due to the old adage, "You get what you pay for". Let me say that we got WAY more than we paid for there! We booked using the AAA rate, and we stayed two nights there. The staff members were all VERY friendly and helpful. The facilities were CLEAN... plenty of towels and toiletries ... VERY large room... GREAT commons areas including indoor pool in the atrium, activities area, and the location was SUPERB... close to EVERYTHING we needed! We bought our tickets at the TOPS market just across from the hotel... $33.95 versus $43.95 at the gate! (The desk clerk clued us in on this!)
We had a GREAT time! BOOK your room at the Clarion in Sandusky! You will be VERY PLEASED!
Unique Quality: Fantastic indoor recreation area!
Friendly and helpful staff.
SUPERB location.... close to EVERYTHING you could ever need!

Bayshore Estates Campground is...
Bayshore Estates Campground is a favorite to stay at. It is about 1 mile to Cedar Points Causeway, East on RT 6. I have stayed there for over 20 years. You can have tents, RV's, Park Models. Call 1-800-962-3786 for reservations.

My Son made friend with 6...
My Son made friend with 6 people from Michigan. We let him hang around with Brian or Bryan. Im not sure how he spelled his name. We visited with them The first night we stayed. The Campground is Bayshore Estates, about 1 mile east of Cedar Points causeway.

Unique Quality: All these accomadations are located within easy walking distance to the park.
Cedar Point has a shuttle bus that runs from points in the camping area to all points around the park gates. Very accessible for wheel chairs too.
I highly recommend this place to stay, while visiting Cedar Point!
You have an endless view of lake erie too,if you stay in the Cottages. The sunsets were gorgeous!

Most major chains of hotels...
Most major chains of hotels have a place in Sandusky.
We have always stayed in the lower priced places, and believe me, good thing we are at the park most of the time, and i certainly wouldn't pay the dollars they expect when the park is in its busiest time of the season!
We usually get a place for $60-80 per night, American dollars.
The same room goes for $180/night in high season.
To me it is ridiculous!
Unique Quality: iIn late August you can virtually get a place to stay for much less than mid summer. It is also easier to get a place to stay. If you plan to go in the middle of summer, be prepared not get your first choice of places to stay in, unless you have planned far in advanced. Prices do vary, but i still find it very expensive for a less than quality place for the dollar!
