Patriot Pointe
by Stephen-KarenConn
Every town worth its salt has a monument and this is ours. It is dedicated to all U. S. veterans - not just those from Sharonville. There are individual marble pedestals or plaques honoring all six branches of the armed forces, and also special recognition to women in uniform and prisoners of war. It's really a pretty spot, across the parking lot from our public library, and across the street from the Gower Park. If I found any fault with the monument it would be that not a single name of a veteran is mentioned. The only names to be found at Patriot Pointe are of doners who contributed to have it errected, and the public officials who voted for it. Seems to me that while honoring ALL veterans they have neglected honoring any. If a veteran from Sharonville gives his/her life for their country, they get no mention. But if you give $50 you can have your name forever inscribed on a brick. Just my observation. Thank God for our veterans, and especially for those who have paid the supreme sacrifice of their lives to defend our liberty.
Hiking in Sharon Woods
by Stephen-KarenConn
Since we are people who enjoy the outdoors more than city life, the greatest redeeming factor of living in Sharonville, for us, is that our back yard joins Sharon Woods. Within these 755 acres are several options for hiking, and we take advantage of them almost every day. For starters, there is the 2.6 mile loop trail around the lake. This is a paved hike/bike trail and very popular - sometimes downright crowded during beautiful weather. The trail in the Sharon Creek Gorge (pictured) runs for almost a mile through deep woods along a beautiful creek with several small waterfalls. There are other pathways which lead through the fields, woods and picnic areas, so with a combination of them one could take a hike of just about any length desirable.
Our (Former) Neighborhood

"Welcome to Sharonville"
Sharonville is a suburb on the north side of Cincinnati, Ohio. A transportation hub, it is intersected by three Interstate highways: 75, 71, and 275, and also has a large freight rail yard. The old downtown area has a small town feel, although most residents probably identify more with the larger city of Cincinnati than just our suburb. We have numerous hotels restaurants, office parks and industrial areas. Other local amenities include the Sharonville Convention Center, a modern public library and a spacious community center, with a new swimming pool, gymnasium etc. People here are generally friendly, but everybody doesn't know your name.
Sharonville is a convenient place to live, a good place to raise a family, and an ideal home base from which one can travel the world.
