Durant is the first town in Oklahoma
by keeweechic
Durant is the first town in Oklahoma you will hit when driving from Texas on US Hwy 75. Our first trip was just a toe tap into Oklahoma however when we arrived home and read up on what there is to see there, we decided to see more on our next trip up that way.

Madill
by keeweechic
Madill is the county seat of Marshall County which is located in south central Oklahoma close to the border of Texas. It is about 30 miles north-east of Durant. There is a great shop to visit if you go there - Texoma Peanut Inn - This shop was our only reason for going into Madill itself. There is a good assortment of inshell peanuts - roasted, salted, Cajun and Jalapeno - as well as shelled peanuts - cocktail, spanish, Runners, Honey Glazed, Hot & Spicy and Raw Spanish. All of which you can sample. Aside from that, there are chocolate covered pretzels, cashews, almonds, pecans and peanuts.. and really just so many other tempting goodies - most of which you can sample.
