As stated previously, some of the older facades along Norman's historical district have been embellished since the 19th century. Even so, a closer look will often reveal the marks or carvings that tell of the original purpose. Others (such as the photo depicted) will show the original wooden doors, a little offset from the modern sidewalk, and protected further by a bricked enclosure. Not a fancy sight but unusual, fully revealing the evolution of this particular entrance.
This is close to the stadium and campus, but it still is a peaceful place to go feed the ducks or study. There's no shortage of ducks and geese and there's usually a lot of friendly people around if you want to throw a frisbee around or jam on your guitar.

I love Norman. Thats why when I was a wee ickle freshman, I picked the University of Oklahoma, Boomer Sooner Baby! This is my junior year, and with only three more semesters to go, I am pumped! I'm origionally from West Chicago Illinois, so Norman is long trip from home. But the more I spend time here, the more this feels like home.
Its a charming town, with old buildings and cute houses. The campus is amazing and you'll fall in love with it too. There is nothing like a home football game, lounging at the Duck Pond doing homework, or visting one of the two Walmarts! Yes, thats how exciting Norman really is!
This is an awesome college town, and I can't imagine myself anywhere else. Come see the Sooner Magic!
