delicious Mediterranean food
by tinyvulture about Zorba's
This restaurant serves Greek/Middle Eastern cuisine in a casual setting. The service is fast and the food is delicious every time. You can also call in an order for pickup. The vegetarian plate lets you sample a little bit of everything: falafel, hummus, dolmades (grape leaves stuffed with rice), spanakopita (spinach pie), tyropita (cheese pie), and your choice of Greek salad, Persian salad, or tabouli. Served with pita bread. Get a baba ganoush (roasted eggplant dip) and a piece of baklava for dessert and you're all set.
Henry Overholser Mansion
by mrclay2000
The 1903 Victorian home of Henry Overholser is located about 15 blocks north of the heart of downtown Oklahoma City. Though I myself do not care much for its gaudy exterior, there are windows of French stained glass and Antwerp oak paneling inside the home.
Tours: T-F, 10-4, Sa-Su 2-4
Fees: Adults, $3; Seniors, $2.50. Age 6-18, $1. Under 6, free.
St Joseph's Revisited
by mrclay2000
Though I didn't speak with any church officials, rumor has it that upwards of $3 million came from federal funds to renovate, repair and reconstruct the church. Throughout St Joseph's Cathedral, the stained glass is as dramatic, bright and dynamic as any you'll discover in Europe, all depicting key scenes and persons in Christian history. Every window is also surmounted with a representation of the Kingdom of God.
Welcome to Tornado Alley
by mafootje
"The heart of the Alley"
Oklahoma city is located in the heart of Tornado Alley. Just a few weeks before we would stay in OKC it was hit by two tornadoes. There was sever damage to many homes and busines property.
Because of the fact we were going to be there in a few weeks we looked all over the internet and informed if our hotel wasn't hit.
The pictures on the internet gave us an idea of the damage. But when we where there and visited the area it gave me a surreal feeling. You could really see the path of the tornado, while some house where gone others right next to the destroyed house was damaged just a little... It must be terrible to be in an area where a tornado touches down...

"To little time"
Well after being their and seen all the attractions, sights and sounds we missed we really know that OKC is a great place to stay longer as we did. We had great weather and great fun in this place..
The only thing we didn't have was time...maybe some other time...
