Protesters and Petitioners
by mrclay2000
In any capital city, town halls are liable to be crowded with individuals and groups pushing forward their agendas. Sometimes the group has powerful backers able to reach the legislative ear directly, while others have to resort to homegrown picket signs, lurid slogans, or even some gimmick to raise attention. While not every cause is useful or important to many outside the group, often the most pressing issues are still in stasis rather than statute. In this image, cut-outs representing murder victims bask in the sunlight and spotlight under the rotunda of the Oklahoma State Capitol.

Travelers can reach Oklahoma City by flying into Will Rogers World Airport (served by most major carriers) or by car. I-40, I-35, and I-44 all pass through Oklahoma City, making the city one of America's crossroads.
Oklahoma City is very large in area, and exploring necessitates the use of a car. Public transportation is minimal, although a trolley system exists to ferry passengers from the I-40/Meridian 'hotel corridor' to various Downtown/Bricktown venues and the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial.

Myriad Botanical Gardens
by rexvaughan
Right in the heart of Oklahoma City is a 17 acre tract of gently rolling hills and a magnificent botanical garden. It includes water gardens, a sunken lake and some interesting sculpture as well as lovely flowers and foliage. The centerpiece of the gardens is the Crystal Bridge (see another tip on this) which is a tropical conservatory. However, I was as impressed with the outside garden. Admission outside is free. Crystal Bridge admission is $6 adult, $5 seniors & students, $3 children 4-12 yrs.

Located in the south central region of the U.S., OKLAHOMA has a land area of 68,667 square miles. and is the 20th largest state. The name Oklahoma is derived from the Choctow words okla and homma, meaning "Red People". Known informally by its nickname, the Sooner State. Its capital and largest city is Oklahoma City.
Hans and I mostly drove through Oklahoma, going east from Arkansas and heading west on the I-40 towards Texas.
The main pic is from the Oklahoma Welcome Center.
OKLAHOMA CITY is the capital and largest city in the State of Oklahoma.
