Martin Park Nature...

Martin Park Nature Center
Martin Park Nature Center is located in the extreme northwest part of the city just west of Mercy Hospital. The center consisted of several acres of creek, field, and woods and featured a nature center and a few miles of trails. Martin Park will never be on anyone's top ten list of great outdoor destinations, but it's a good little park. The rangers are knowledgable and helpful, and the exhibits in the nature center are well done. The hiking trails are not breathtaking but they are a fun place to get outside and see something other than the four walls of one'a apartment or house. The creek cuts through the land exposing the bright red Oklahoma clay. For those who have never been somewhere where dirt is red, it's an interesting site. Another fun part of visiting Martin Park is a bird-viewing area. I took a photo of a chickadee there and have posted it on my personal pages at Chickadee. I also have a link to the nature center's homepage on my page.
Irish...Great for St. Patrick's Day!
by msbrandysue about Bennigan's Grill and Tavern
This is a chain of casual, sit down restaurants offering any type of food from steak to sandwiches, salads to things from the grill. They have a great bar that is pretty well priced for the area.
They have a wonderful daily happy hour. I believe it is from 5pm-7pm and then 9pm-11pm. During that time they offer selected $3 appetizers and $2 drinks. The drinks include margarita on the rocks, cosmopolitan, draft beer, and a few others. In the bar area they have a few televisions, juke box, and have yet to see a rude person.
It's a fun, laid back atmosphere. People come here with their families, after a ball game, on a date, and so on. There has to be something you'll like!
Again, since this is a chain there are few of these locations around Oklahoma City. Find the one that is closest to you from their website.
*Picture to come soon... If I'm eating a meal I love the Turkey O'Toole. It is sliced turkey served on a pretzel bun with melted swiss cheese and covered with honey mustad.
If I'm here for happy hour I order the Irish cheese fries along with the margarita, cosmopolitan, or a draft beer. The tab is always nice during happy hour no matter how many drinks you have :)
Children's Area
by PinkFloydActuary
Right outside the entrance to the actual museum is the Children's area. After the bombing, children from all over North America sent in hand-painted tiles with their messages of caring. Over 5,000 of these tiles were received, and now a number of them were built into the wall of the Children's Area. This serves as inspiration to the young visitors of today, who are encouraged to leave chalk messages in the sidewalks of this part of the memorial.
Wall of Remembrance
by mrclay2000
Almost immediately after the bombing, a chain-link fence was erected to preserve the site, but instead served to preserve the memories of the fallen. Nineteen children died in the second-floor daycare. The subsequent inflow from children around the nation of "care bears" literally overwhelmed the fence, along with photos, mementos and other tokens left by family and friends. This section is the "living" statement of the Memorial.

Oklahoma City is a very kind city of people that have an inherent respect for each other. The trick is to never approach religion as a conversation. Particularly if you are like me and tend to have an open mind about various religions. However, all in all, I like Oklahoma City even if it is a little more limited in terms of multiculturism.
