 | Doubletree Hotel Tulsa-Downtown: Convenient for Conventions and Court

Representing your company at a trade show at the Tulsa Convention Center? Want to treat the wife to a nice getaway arranged around an Oilers or Talons game? Crime boss needing a nice place to stay before your appearance in Federal Court? Well then you just might want to take a look at the Doubletree Hotel - Downtown Tulsa. With its location directly across the street from, and attached by a skybridge to, the Tulsa Convention Center and City Hall plaza, you'll be staying as close as you can get. And with the Doubletree Downtown having recently completed a $4.4 Million renovation, your accomodatons will be top drawer too. The Doubletree's modern building has a spacious lobby of marble and brass that opens on to several levels. Overall ambience is quietly elegant, without being stuffy or pretentious. Guest rooms are nicely sized and decorated in a relaxing, subdued style. The hotel's restaurant, 7 West Cafe, fits in nicely with the overall feel of the hotel in that it provides quality fare but again in a nicely open and unassuming atmosphere. An interesting factoid about the Downtown Doubletree (then known as the Excelsior) is that it was the official hotel for the cast and crew of "The Outsiders" when Francis Ford Coppola shot the film in Tulsa in 1982. If you ask, you might be able to get the same room used by Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze, Matt Dillon, Diane Lane, or any of the other stars who were mostly just young up and comers at the time. The hotel provides a free shuttle to and from the Airport. Access to all the major expressways is also convenient. The only possible drawback to the Doubletree Downtown's location is if there is not an event happening at the Convention Center, this is a corner of downtown that has even less going on then most of Tulsa's center. Of course, this may be just what you want after a hard day answering those pesky racketeering charges!
Connected by enclosed walkway to Tulsa Convention Center, near to government offices, free airport shuttle.
