Doubletree Warren Place exterior by BixB The Doubletree at Warren Place is a luxury hotel in an attractive location. The ambience and decor in this nice modern building is quiet and subdued, making it a relaxing spot after a hard business day or for a weekend getaway. One of the best aspects is its setting. It is in a complex of upscale south Tulsa offices and actually stands in its own little wooded park. Behind the hotel there is a pleasant lighted jogging trail through the hillside park, which is attractively landscaped and includes a small man-made stream. Of course, as with all Doubletrees, another nice touch are those warm chocolate chip cookies they give you. A further reason to stay here, especially with a good expense account, is the hotel's posh restaurant, the Warren Duck Club. It is AAA 4-diamond rated and arguably the best restaurant in the city. Unfortunately, my most memorable experience at the Doubletree Warren Place is a failed attempt at a romantic weekend there with Mrs. BixB. I was feeling a bit under-the-weather as we checked in on a Friday afternoon, but hoped a good meaI would improve my condition. Things did not improve, however, and we returned to the room where I went promptly to bed, sans any romantic interlude, due to the mystery illness. The source of my discomfort was startingly clear the next morning when I awoke covered in the tell-tale red dots that accompany a case of chicken pox! Of course this was no fault of the hotel, but rather a consequence of having a contagious pre-schooler in the house. Mrs. BixB was quite understanding, the tot and I recovered from our joint bout of pox, and Mrs. BixB and I returned on a later weekend where we enjoyed an extremely satisfying stay.
Park-like setting, great restaurant, nice pool; location is across the street from LaFortune Park, one of the largest city parks, with more running trails, tennis courts, batting cages and a public 18-hole par-3 golf course.
