Gorgeous House available on VRBO: A must for a group to stay~

When we first arrived in Cannon Beach, the property manager actually sent us to the wrong house- so bring these photos with you so you can confirm you are at the right place. This home is STUNNING! Everything about it is first class. Highly recommended if you can afford it, and with a group of 5 splitting the cost, it was very affordable~

A cozy little hot tub out back, lovely steam shower in the master...

Unique Quality: Gorgeous home inside and out. Each bedroom area has it's own bathroom. A great place for a group to stay for a visit

Sylvia Beach Hotel: Unique lodging for booklovers

This is my very, very favorite place to stay on the Oregon Coast.
Each room is named and decorated after a different author, ranging from the large, balcony rooms (Mark Twain, Agatha Christie) to the least expensive non-ocean view rooms (Oscar Wilde, ).
There is a wonderful breakfast that comes with the lodging, eaten in an ocean side dining room, plus one of the best restaurants for dinner on the coast is part of the hotel.

Unique Quality: An attic library full of books, reading room with fireplace overlooking ocean, hot wine in evening, room for putting together puzzles and playing board games, no televisions or phones in rooms, journals in each rooms to write in and read (some wonderful stories of past occupants, kind of like having the walls talk), books of the author for which the room is named in each room, relaxing, wonderful company if you feel compatible, privacy if you don't, wonderful view and beach, historical old inn which was renovated after seening better times (scrapbook in gift shop), one of a kind charm.
Not for you unless you like old things and books.

McBee Motel Cottages: Inside McBee's

This isn't a new tip, but I wanted to include a photo of the inside of room #34. Obviously, it's small, but the view doesn't show the table and chairs.

Unique Quality: Comfortable bed, coffee pot and refrigerator and short walk to the beach. There's also a picnic table outside.
The motel isn't right in the middle of the busiest part of town with most of the shops, but it's within walking distance or a short drive.
"Homey cabins for families since 1941" is it's slogan. (Kind of dates it a little)

McBee Motel Cottages: Budget coast lodging

McBee Cottages are old-fashioned, comfortable but not fancy, attached cottages. I was looking for an inexpensive place to spend a couple nights during an October weekend and this place fit the bill perfectly.

Ideally I like to get a room that overlooks the ocean, but in this case I could easily reach the beach by walking a very short block and then down a path to the ocean, with Haystack Rock not far away.

Unique Quality: I had room #34, which was a studio with a double and a twin bed, a table with two chairs, a television set with remote on top of long low dressers.
The room included a small refrigerator (came in handy for snacks) and a coffee maker with complimentary coffee, tea and hot chocolate.
The bathtub/shower offered soap and shampoo.
Some of the rooms are described as suites, and some have fireplaces and kitchens.
McBee does seem like the kind of place my parents would have stayed in many, many years ago. Very basic -- and not for you if you want luxurious accomodations -- but perfectly comfortable. Pets are welcome.
Rates vary depending on the room and the season but are below the going rate for Cannon Beach.
I paid $128 for two weekend nights, including taxes. For the price, I was very satisfied.
Check in at the Cannon Beach Hotel about three blocks south.

Sea Sprite Guest Lodgings: Cannon Beach Best Place to Stay

Sea Sprite Guest Lodgings is the best place to stay in all of Cannon Beach, OR. Right on the Ocean with a staff that goes the extra mile to make sure you are enjoying yourself.
My family and I highly recommend this quaint little lodging. Only 7 rooms with gas fireplaces and the Ocean right at your door.
This is a housekeeping unit which means you get fresh towels and garbage dumped daily, on your 3rd day you get a complete service, unless you want it sooner, just asked and they do it. Everyone is great.

Unique Quality: The best way I can describe the outstanding characteristics of the Sea Sprite is to say the staff makes it worth your while to be there.
