Champoeg State Park Campground: A Variety of Camping Accomodations
There are quite a number of different accomodations here, including wooden cabins, yurts (which are wheelchair accessible!), a grassy field for tent campers, and RV overnight parking.
Even in cold, wet February, the park is a very popular location. You will need to get your reservations in as early as possible!!!
Despite the increasing amount of suburban development in the area, there is a variety of wildlife here including birds, deer, and coyote. The Willamette River is very close to the tent and RV camping areas, but actual locations to fish are located in the day use areas.
In broad daylight there were deer right next to the camping area of the park.
RV maintenance facilities (water fill, sewer dump, etc) are near entrance to camp ground.
Each of the wooden cabins has a barbecue stand and a picnic table. If you are visiting outside of high summer though, you might want to pack a shelter or tarp to put over the picnic table in the event that it rains.
For the official web site of the state park, see my tip about various Champoeg web sites.
