I spent four days at the Valley River Inn, during the New Year's Day holiday and it was rather pleasant. The hotel is quite large but the rooms are of comfortable size. All of the amenities are like you would find at a good, high-end hotel. The rooms were spacious, warm, there was a small gym and the employees were very helpful and friendly.
The hotel is adjacent to a large shopping center and restaurants so there is something for everyone there. It's located a few miles (if even that) from downtown and the University of Oregon.
