I was tremendously impressed with this place. For one thing, room rates were half of what it would have cost for lodging at Timberline. The rooms were a comfortable size and even had a mini fridge and microwave. For some reason, I recevied an upgrade to a jacuzzi room at no extra charge, even though I booked a seriously discounted rate via Expedia and that's usually the best way to get the worst room at the inn. There is a covered parking garage, which is a great perk during bad weather, a ski storage room and a sauna. There is free breakfast in the mornings and a restaurant next door which serves decent food in the evenings.
The staff were unbelievably helpful and even went so far as to help me arrange a ride up to Timberline on the unexpectedly snowy morning. They also provided lots of useful information about other attractions in the area when the long awaited plans fell through.
Aside from missing the convenience of staying on the mountain and being walking distance to the slopes and trails, I found this place to be better than Timberline. Granted, Timberline has restaurants, including one really good one, and a spa, but the accommodations at the lodge were cramped and rustic, not to mention expensive. Unless you're planning a 2 a.m. summit climb (or even if you are), this place is worth considering.
