Banfield Motel: Comfortable and Convenient, Nothing Special
I have never stayed in the Banfield, but relatives have. It is a fairly simple establishment that gives you a bed and private bathroom, but few other amenities. It's a great place if you are looking for an affordable place fairly close to downtown Portland. The surrounding community of Hollywood, with Laurelhurst within walking distance, is considerably better than some of the other areas where value priced motels exist.
Please note that the prices increase in the summer months, by some $15-$20. Peak travel days bring higher prices.
It is quite close to downtown Portland, and one MAX station away from the Lloyd Center, which is the start of the main downtown Portland area.
Fairly typical motor lodge with each room having its own entrance, so no hallway noise (maybe some balcony noise).
