Several sites can be found along the trail to Mt Yoran either before you branch off onto the Mt Yoran trail proper at Notch Lake, or at Divide Lake at the base of Mt Yoran. You might want to put your tent a little more off the trail though than the people did in this picture, who set up literally on the trail itself. OK, maybe it was dark when they set up. I will give them a bit of a break, I guess.
Another way to go since there are so many trees around is to bring a hammock system like the great one made by Hennessey Hammocks, a small outdoor adventurer pushing the envelope up in southern British Columbia. His hammock system lets you sleep better than on the ground, keeps the bugs off you and increases many fold, what you can consider as suitable ground for a camp. See his website at www.hennesseyhammock.com
Hotel views rarely equal those which you can find with a bit of walking and those from Divide Lake are hard to beat. The peace found here makes everything else seem a long ways away.
